DAY 3 – July 4th 2010

TURMION KÄTILÖT – 14:45, Sue Stage

I was very curious to see Turmiön Kätilöt live, very interesting Finnish band with four full length albums released. We could compare them to Rammstein somehow since they also mix industrial metal with electronic music and sing in their mother language (here Finnish, of course), but they are heavier than the German band and the concert is raw in which concerns to production. No lights, no fire, but very good music and pure attitude.

I cannot miss talking about the outfit in this review, of course; HORRIBLE custumes and bad made make-up, very funny though, since it´s obvious they do it on purpose. These guys are sarcastic and know how to make the crowd keep the feeling. Alive there are 2 vocalists; MC Raaka Pee and Spellgoth, the first bald and chubby and the second thin and tall with a long hair. The opposite in looks but with very similar voices. The rest of the line-up is formed by Run Q on keyboards, Master Bates on bass, DQ on drums and Bobby Undertaker on guitar. The teasing words and sarcasm started even before the first song with MC Raaka Pee saying: ”Who is the most stupid Finland´s neighbor?” The crowd replied in loud voice: ”Sweden!!!!” And then they started singing: ”Finland rocks, Sweden sucks, Finland rocks, Sweden sucks!”. For those who don´t know, Finland v's Sweden is some kind of ”forever issue”, specially in which concerns to sports, something like Brazil v's Argentina in soccer. Turmion Kätilöt did a great concert and the crowd was really enjoying, specially during the ”question & answer” moments of the concert where the audience would sing along.

I watched half of the show and headed for Inferno Stage to check a bit of Finntroll....
