NEWS - 27th January - NEW ORDER CONFIRMED AS FIRST HEADLINERS FOR SERBIA'S EXIT FESTIVAL 2012

Friday the 13th July is the date when the audience in this part of Europe will for the first time have the opportunity to attend a concert of one of the most important electro-pop band of all time - the legendary New Order.

New Order are an English band whose fusion of electronic instruments and rock and roll attitude-perfect melodies brought a revolution in music, a revolution whose consequences are still being felt.

Also at this year's Exit Festival the Portuguese world music sensations Buraka Som Sistema will perform. Their mix of angolskog kuduro sound, strong multi-ethnic ghetto funk rhythms and amazing dancers and MCs from around the world ijevi, leaving live audiences breathless.

Act announced for the Dance Arena so far include Luciano, Reboot Live, Kenny Larkin, Robert Dietz and Mayaan Nidam.

THE HISTORY OF EXIT FESTIVAL

This first EXIT Noise Summer Fest 2000 was one of the biggest cultural-social projects in Yugoslavia in recent years.

The relaxed, summer atmosphere on the beach with never-ending, quality music, with beach sports, reminded of Ibiza or other such similar youth-orientated summer happenings. This then gave the organisers the idea to organise a proper, large music festival that only 'serious' countries had held thus far.

Formed out of rebellion, on the field between the Faculty of Philosophy and the Danube river, this first EXIT changed the way Novi Sad natives thought as well as of the people that came to the city and showed how we fought here for a democratic and normal life. The first EXIT will to many remain in their thoughts as the best, perhaps because of its spontaneity and political background. At that time, something just had to happen, something that rose above the darkness that engulfed us and to illuminate the future. And the future had begun!
