The Chiemsee Reggae Summer festival
is an open-air Reggae Festival, which takes place annually in August at Lake Chiemsee. It has evolved in recent years with up to 30,000 visitors it has become one of the biggest reggae festivals in Europe.
The first festival was held in July 1995. In the first two years, the festival was limited to one day but since 1996 the festival was expanded due to increased demand in two days. In 2001, the festival extended for another day and moved from July to a weekend in August.
On the main stage, the artists perform under the open sky (open air). Since 1999 organizers built an additional tent stage and in 2006 there was a third stage, the Coke -DJ tent, where DJs performed
How to get there By Car
Übersee is located directly on the Autobahn A8 München-Salzburg. It is imperative that you use Ausfahrt Grabenstätt (Exit Grabenstätt), this is because there the route to the festival grounds, camping grounds and parking lots is well marked. If you take the Ausfahrt Übersee (Exit Übersee) you will end up in downtown Übersee where there are no signs directing you to the festival, which will definitely cost you time and patience
