HISTORY
The Hop Farm Festival came about after a survey was taken and the feeling amongst fans buying festival tickets, was that they ended up feeling the lowest on the pecking order. So now the Hop Farm festival has gone back to basics and is all about the punter and the music.
The inaugural Hop Farm Festival drew 30,000 Neil Young fans to rural Kent in 2008. This one-day event marks a new chapter for the promoter Vince Power, the former head of the Mean Fiddler group, which runs many of the country's biggest venues and festivals. Hop Farm is billed as a return to basics, with a single stage, no sponsorship and few frills.
