HISTORY

Bestival is an award winning 3 day boutique music festival established in 2004 set at Robin Hill - a beautiful leafy country park near Downend and Newport in the heart of the Isle of Wight.

Bestival was born out of ten fun years of pioneering music events and record releases from Rob da Bank's Sunday Best empire. The BBC Radio 1 leftfield DJ had a dream to one day create his vision of how the modern day festival should be. Along with Creative Director and wife Josie da Bank and co founders / partners John and Ziggy from Get Involved that dream is now fulfilled. On a mission to change the face of independent festival culture, the fearless foursome are bringing some magic to the shores of the Solent and spreading the love worldwide.

Set in a beautiful country park in the heart of the Isle of Wight, Bestival is a weekend of eclectic music, eccentric people and plenty of fancy dress. Winner of Best Medium Festival three times in a row at the UK Festival Awards the festival has cemented itself as one of the best boutique events in the country

GETTING TO BESTIVAL

The Isle of Wight is only about 2 hours from London (for example) and really couldn't be easier to get to. There are hundreds of ferry crossings to the Isle of Wight each and every day (& night!) and these ferry routes connect easily with road and rail in Portsmouth, Southampton and Lymington.

TRAVELLING BY TRAIN

South West Trains operate services to Portsmouth Harbour, where you will be metres away from the Wightlink 'FastCat' service, and to Southampton Central where a courtesy bus will take you the short journey to Red Funnel's 'Red Jet' and passenger/vehicle service. More info and train times available from South West Trains - www.southwesttrains.co.uk or www.nationalrail.co.uk / 08457 484950.
