News - 30th January - SIX MORE BANDS ANNOUNCED FOR GETAWAY ROCK FESTIVAL
Today Getaway Rock Festival organisers have revealed a further six more heavy duty names for this summer's festival! All of these new additions are  making their only festival appearances in Sweden this summer Getaway Rock.

So here are the new bands:

Satyricon (N) Heavy black metal than that which comes packaged from the Satyricon can not summon up on this side of the 2000s. Last album The Age of Nero was released in 2008, and is already considered a solid classic.

August Burns Red (U.S.) in 2011 was August Burns Red headliner on the Warped Tour, 2012, to the Getaway Rock Festival! With his fourth album Leveler who came last year, the gang from Lancaster, Philadelphia, has positioned itself as one of the biggest bands in metalcore.

Warbringer (U.S.) The descendants of Slayer, Exodus and Anthrax have Warbringer boarded the world with its compelling love for metal. With an average of 300 gigs a year since his debut in War Without End, so it is no exaggeration to say that we Warbringer has a bizarre tight live band.

Skindred (UK) Skindred is quite unique with its successful way to pick well-chosen elements from punk, metal, reggae and electronic dance music, and so perfect twist the parts together into a perfect explosion which, honestly, only to be experienced live!

Trigger Finger (BE) Rockabilly, Stoner, electronica Belgians Trigger Finger is the best substitute for the serious Queens Of The Stoneage-abstinence. The Loudest Band in Antwerp will turn up the volume to 11 even at Getaway Rock Festival.

Kings Destroy (U.S.) Kings Destroy is one of the most interesting recent doom-metal bands today, and debuted as late as 2010 with the album And the Rest Will Surely Perish. The band counters the drawling most of the Sabbath grooves with a sound reminiscent of The Melvins and Goatsnake.

Manowar CONFIRMED AS HEADLINERS FOR Getaway ROCK FESTIVAL 2012

Joey DeMaio appeared Friday evening on stage at Getaway Rock Festival's main stage in Washington and announced that Manowar "Kings Of Metal", will perform at the headliners at next year's festival.

In doing so meets Manowar his promise to return to the Swedish festival scene after a break of 12 years.

"The Swedish fans have won, their strong faith in real metal and rejection of false metal is the reason that we are finally coming back," said DeMaio after the statement. "There were no compromises in their wishes, nor in our response, we promised each other that it must be all or nothing. It is no secret that the Swedish festivals have been about taking back Manowar to Sweden and eventually won Getaway".

"This is a huge step for us and we are incredibly proud to have clear Manowar as next year's headliners for Getaway Rock Festival," said festival general Tomas Jernberg. "Manowar has a strong and loyal fan base in Sweden, the rest of Scandinavia and also world-wide. It feels great to be the festival that takes Manowar back to Sweden".

"We played our last festival, Sweden 1999, and we promised that we would not come back until we can give our fans what they deserve. Next year, that promise fulfilled. We promise to crush all the power and strength."

"This will be a gig that no true metal warrior can miss. We urge all Manowar fans, not only from Scandinavia but from around the world to join us to experience a concert that no one in the audience will ever forget," continues DeMaio.

"We have heard the Swedish fans' vote and we will listen to more countries vote to occur even in their countries," said DeMaio. "For more news and surprises are on the way" promise DeMaio.

2010 is the first year that the Getaway Rock Festival is being run - below is a note from the organisers :

The aim with the festival is to create something new at the Hard Rock scene as we know after many years of national and international festivals that we have a gap to fill.

What we experienced a lack of existing festivals is the mix of good bands, unique area, accessibility, service and concept. We hope that after the guest walks into the Gas holder area so will the feeling of Getaway Rock festival is different feel directly. Our officers will be the friendliest you can find, but they will definitely not be at any gate in orange / yellow luminous jackets and show people the right

Although our concept thought about arranging hard rock club in gas holders after the headline band knows we will highlight the festival. Together with services in terms of proximity to hotels, transportation, etc. so this will be a different festival, we promise!
