News - 17th December - FIRST ACTS ANNOUNCED

Festival organisers have announced the first three acts for next year's festival, and they are ones you are going to want to see - Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Lenny Kravitz and Lars Winnerback!

HISTORY

Norwegian Wood is a music festival in Oslo, Norway. It takes place in Frognerbadet, near Frognerparken (the Vigeland Sculpture Park). In 2006 the festival took place from June 14 to June 18. The main headliner was Roger Waters (of Pink Floyd), who performed the entire Dark Side of the Moon.

In 2007 the festival took place from 14th to the 17th of June and the famous nu-metal band Korn played at the festival. Brian Wilson, former member of The Beach Boys, also played at the 2007 festival. Other bands who played include Wolfmother.

The name of the festival refers to The Beatles famous hit song Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown).

GETTING TO NORWEGIAN ROCK FESTIVAL

The Airport Train will take you directly from Oslo Airport Gardermoen to the city (20 minutes). The station "Sentralbanestasjonen" is by the main train station.

The station "Central Station" is by the main train station.

"National Theater" is next rail station and closest to the festival. From there is a 20 minute walk or 5 - 10 minutes taxi ride.

If you Disembark at the next station "National Theater", The Grand Hotel (Classic Hotel) and the Continental Hotel (semi-classic) are very close to that station. SAS Radisson (semi modern) is a 10 minutes walk. Radisson SAS (semi-modern) is a 10 minute walk.

Festival site is approx. 15 - 20 minutes walk from the hotels.

You can take a tram to: "Majorstua" or "Frogner Stadium".
