HISTORY

The BANG YOUR HEAD festival started in 1996 and for the first three years the event took place at the Stefan-Hartmann-Halle in Tübingen. In 1999 it was decided to do an Open-Air-festival for the first time and in 1996 and 1997 it was only an one day event.

However, due to the fact that the number of visitors grew from year to year, the festival also grew and was stretched to a two day event in 1998. That year 1.800 fans from all parts of Germany, some surrounding countries and even a few from the the land of the rising sun visited the festival.

To accommodate everyone organisers took the next logical step and the BANG YOUR HEAD festival took place as an Open-Air for the first time in Balingen and 18.000 people showed up over two days
