HISTORY
The festival is organised on the majestic site of the main square of Arras, in Nord - Pas de Calais. It offers a capacity of 30 000 people per day. It gives some exceptional performances in this magic place, unique in Europe.
Since 2008, France Leduc, the Main Square Festival organizer, and Herman Schueremans, the originator of Rock Werchter, have brought together their passion within Live Nation France Festivals. Live Nation organizes almost 60 festivals around the world. The organizer is the instigator of events which became mythical. The "Hard Rock Calling" in England and "Rock Werchter" (fifth-elected best festival in the world) in Belgium are the main proofs. The Main Square Festival aspires to become one of these incontrovertible summer meeting.
The services suggested to the festival-goers are as advantageous. All plans are made in order to create a festal and a friendly atmosphere around the main square. Its camp-site at 15 minutes walk and its access facilities are a windfall for all good music lovers.
The environment respect has been from the beginning of the adventure a genuine involvement. The Main Square Festival intends to contribute to a sustainable development in becoming the first "green festival" in the North of France. Several ecologic actions are undertaken, in that way, in our work and on the festival site: prints on recycled paper with vegetable ink, recycled cups, waste separation, use of biodegradable products, etc…
