SKIVE FESTIVAL HISTORY

Skive Beach Party (now Skive Festival) started in 1993 as an one day event presenting mostly popular domestic artists for the mainstream population.

Slowly the festival evolved with ups and downs throughout the nineties and went to become a two day event in 1998 with 10.000 visitors and then a three day event in 2000. At last in 2001 the first four day festival was presented with a staggering 15.000 visitors.

Later another record was set in 2006 with just about 19.000 tickets sold and Skive Beach Party had made its way into the first division of the Danish music festivals.
So far the recipe of success had been to present popular sing-a-long music for a wide range of age groups. But in 2007 Skive Beach Party wanted to develop its profile in order to become a more visible player in the national and international scope.
With that the festival decided to put together a more ambitious music programme aiming more focused at the younger crowd by booking the hottest artists from the present music scene.
In 2008 the risky bet was rewarded and Skive Beach Party wrote history by becoming the third largest festival in Denmark with roughly 22.000 visitors. The music budget was heavily increased and famous international artist like Linkin Park and Queens of The Stone Age were presented alongside with a wide range of popular Danish acts.

In 2009 Skive Beach Party has continued to pursue the same ambitious route and once again the music budget has been increased strongly in order to present an even more attractive programme. (see full programme below)
Furthermore in 2009 the festival has added two brand new theme stages, Club Stöj and Rolinu! giving the music programme a more diversified touch.

STAGES

Skive Beach Party has two main stages on which the most popular artist of the festival perform and both stages has a capacity of up to 20.000 attendants. Skive Beach Party also has two minor theme stages making sure that the festival holds something for all tastes.
Club Stöj (meaning noize) features some of the most popular DJs and electronic acts from around northern Europe, mostly Denmark, Sweden and UK.?Here the crowd gets a chance of experiencing the true club vibe with pounding beats, spectacular lighting setup and none stop party.
At Rolinu! (meaning ”no worries”) the festival presents a laid back chill-out theme with some of Denmark’s best upcoming and alternative artists. This stage is situated in cozy surroundings under the treetops in the majestic Krabbesholm Forrest where our guest have the opportunity to take a break from the hectic pace of the festivals main areas and just chill out.
